Passage, 2015

Single-channel video installation, 7 min 40 sec, color, sound

Filmed in Jerusalem, “Passage” is a single long take of the route the artist took toward Al-Aqsa. During the majority of the video, the camera is in the artist’s jacket pocket, between the desire to show and to hide the route towards the holy place, the abstract image and the sound of the city along with that of the Muezzin’s call to prayer turns the  ordinary road into a mystical image of a journey.

“Passage” questions the ethics of the image in an environment in which nothing escapes the lens of the camera or the distribution of images.
